Background Information about Mwalimu Abwang Family Foundation

The idea of Mwalimu Abwang Family Foundation (MAFF) was born in 2017, as both a family building body and a philanthropic organisation dedicated to empowering children through education and supporting various causes that foster their overall well-being. With a strong commitment to social impact, the foundation endeavours to create lasting change within the family and the surrounding communities by focusing on four key areas: education, saving and financial literacy, health and sanitation, and rural farming.

About Mwalimu Gustavio Abwang

Mwalimu Gustavio Abwang was born in 1926 and passed on to be with the Lord in 1993 (67 years old). 'Mwalimu' is Swahili language word (the common language in East Africa) meaning 'Teacher' in English language. Gustavio trained as a primary school teacher, where he rose in the ranks from classroom teacher to the headteacher position.  He honourably retired from Uganda's education service while heading Abakuli Primary School, in Bata sub-county, Dokolo district, Uganda.
